Irwin’s Bike & Sports in Johnston have put together another group promotion package with the Iowa Stars. It is similar to the event last April where 2 mens league teams (sponsored by Irwins) will be playing a game at Wells Fargo prior to the Iowa Stars game. Rosters, referees as well as scoreboard operator are all being iron out at this time.

Tickets are in the side/corner section (sections 101/124) this time and cost only $10. Ticket price will include 1 pop, 1 hot dog & 1 bag of chips. Yes, you read that correctly!

If anyone is interested in volunteering their time or playing in this event (roster slots are limited), please contact Joe Tufano. Message from Ken Parkins - This years MDA Fundraiser Hockey game will be on January 12, 2008 at Wells Fargo Arena. The $15 tickets are once again good for admission to the Stars game as well at 7:00pm following the Guns N Hoses Hockey game. So far the record is Firefighters 2 Police 0. This years game will also have numerous other activities in the concourse including Clowns, face painting, balloon art, safety booths, and more. We will also be selling t-shirts with this years logo to raise additional money for MDA of Central Iowa. Raffle tickets will be sold with prizes ranging from certificates to restaurants, autographed sports items including the Dallas Stars to T-Shirts and hotel stays. Raffle tickets will be sold the day of the event and winners announced at the conclusion of the Guns N Hoses game.

New this year during the Iowa Stars game, the First Iowa Stars Jersey off their back MDA silent auction. A specially designed jersey will be worn by the Stars for this game and you can bid on them throughout the game and if you have the winning bid, get it right off the back of your favorite Star at the conclusion of the game.
